Editorial & Corrections Policy

Maritime News BD is an English-language news site covering Bangladesh’s maritime sector and major international maritime developments. This page explains how we report, how we correct mistakes and how we keep news separate from advertising.

Our sources

  • We report from official announcements, documents and statements, from our own reporting, and from credible news organisations.
  • Every news report names its sources. When we rewrite or translate a report first published elsewhere, we say so and link to the original.
  • We do not publish rumours or claims we cannot attribute.

Accuracy and verification

  • We check names, figures, dates and quotes against the source before publishing.
  • When sources disagree on a material fact, we either verify it or report the disagreement clearly.
  • Photos are credited. Where a photo does not show the actual event, it is labelled as a representative image.

Corrections policy

  • If we get something wrong, we correct it as quickly as possible.
  • Significant corrections are noted at the end of the article with the date of the change.
  • To request a correction, email maritimenewsbd24@gmail.com with the article link and details.

Opinion and editorials

Opinion pieces, interviews, editorials and special reports are clearly labelled and kept separate from news reports. Views expressed by contributors are their own.

Job listings

Our Maritime Jobs section summarises vacancies published by employers and job sites, with a link to the official source. Maritime News BD is not the employer and is not involved in recruitment. Never pay anyone to get a job.

Advertising and independence

Advertising and sponsored content, if published, is clearly labelled. Advertisers have no influence over our news coverage.
