The Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) has launched an upgraded, fully automated Terminal Operating System (TOS) that digitises import cargo delivery documentation from the delivery order application to final gate-out, The Business Standard reported on 2 July 2026, citing a CPA press release.
Previously only delivery order applications and generation were online, though the port has used a TOS since 2011. Under the new system each step must be completed and verified before the next opens, so importers and clearing and forwarding agents cannot skip stages.
The TOS is linked to the National Board of Revenue’s ASYCUDA World system: if customs places a hold on a container, the block appears in the TOS and processing stops until clearance. The CPA expects faster processing, lower paperwork costs and fewer forgeries, with users able to track document status in real time.
