Requirements
- Good knowledge of Custom Sarkar and Jetty Sarkar operations
- High expertise in ASYCUDA World; knowledge of SRO/import policy, CPC and HS codes is mandatory
- Familiarity with customs regulations and port procedures; good MS Excel skills
- Experience dealing with senior customs officials is highly preferred
Main responsibilities
- Customs clearance: bill of entry, assessment, examination, duty and tax payment, and cargo release
- Coordinating with customs, the port authority, shipping agents, freight forwarders, transporters and clients
- Timely cargo delivery while avoiding demurrage, detention, misdeclaration, penalties or delays
- Checking BL, invoice, packing list, LC/LCA, insurance and DO; preparing requisitions and bills; keeping shipment files and ensuring compliance with the Customs Act and NBR rules
