Bangladesh invited international oil and gas companies to bid in the Bangladesh Offshore Bidding Round 2026 at a ministerial session of the World Energies Summit in London on 29 September 2026, The Business Standard reported.
Twenty-six offshore blocks are open — 11 in shallow water and 15 in deep water. The delegation promoted the commercial terms of the Offshore Model Production Sharing Contract 2026, the largely unexplored hydrocarbon potential of the Bay of Bengal and the availability of modern seismic data.
State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit said energy demand is rising with economic growth and urged companies to take part. Companies were advised to review the geological and seismic data and contact the government and Petrobangla for details.
