Chattogram Port handled 3.52 million TEUs of containers in fiscal year 2025-26, up 6.76% from 3.30 million TEUs the year before, according to Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) statistics reported by The Daily Star on 1 July 2026.
Cargo handling rose 5.36% to 137.74 million tonnes, and ocean-going vessel calls increased to 4,324 from 4,077. The average turnaround time for container vessels fell to 2.38 days from 2.58 days.
Revenue rose to Tk 6,629 crore from Tk 5,366 crore in FY2024-25, while operating expenses fell to about Tk 1,951 crore from Tk 2,388 crore. The CPA attributed the results to growing trade, better operational efficiency and ongoing modernisation work. The report did not break down the cost savings.
The figures were published shortly before the port switched its import delivery documentation to a fully automated terminal operating system — see our Trade coverage.
