What the role involves
- Overseeing bulk coal imports: shipping, port handling, stevedoring and lighterage.
- Working with banks on LC opening, document endorsement, LOIs and duty payments.
- Coordinating with Customs, the port authority and the Ministry of Energy, including VAT waiver certificates, customs assessment and duty calculation.
- Supervising shipping agents, C&F agents and surveyors, and checking and approving shipping, C&F, stevedoring, lighter vessel, survey and chartering bills.
- Tracking vessel arrivals, discharge rates and cargo movement, and clearing bottlenecks to avoid delays and demurrage.
- Making sure operations follow international shipping and bulk cargo rules, and preparing regular operational and financial reports.
